Bradley Wiggins starts his prologue time trial in Monte Carlo
Simon Asher got a great surprise for his 30th Birthday when he was whisked away by his girlfriend Emma to see the opening stage of the Tour de France 2009 in Monte Carlo, Monaco.
Along with Simon and Emma the Rock Estate tour party included Nic and Maria. In the time honoured tradition of the Tour de France, Simon ensured that Rock Estate was chalked onto the overwise pristeen roads of Monaco to let the world know just who we are! This did cause a small altercation with one local Monegasque gendarme, but Simon put his superb GCSE French skills to use and was able to continue his drawing. The team made the most of their trip to the South of France with some sightseeing/pool time and a few bowls of moules mariniere.
With the likes of Lance Armstrong, Alberto Contador, Fabian Cancellara and Mark Cavendish riding the time trial, lets hope the Asher Boys picked up a few tips to pass on to us lesser mortals on the Thursday bike ride.
