Winter Training On Thursdays From the Thursday after the clocks go back (3rd Nov), there will be a few options for the Rock Estate to get fit for the 2012 season where we expect both individual improvement and continued local domination!! (1) Two Bridges run followed by circuits at 1930 hrs. (2) Two laps of the Lowestoft bike route followed by the Two Bridges run. (3) Double Circuits. Circuits at 1830 hrs followed by circuits at 1930 hrs.

Rock Estates top triathletes Matt Thwaites, Mark Drake and Liam Gentry are doing the Fritton Viking Middle Distance Triathlon on Sunday 25th September 2011. The event comprises a 2.5km swim, 80km bike and then a 20km run. Hopefully on Sunday the Rock Estate will have 3 Half Ironmen!

The Waveney2 Triathlon at Bungay is on Sunday 18th September 2011. Competing for the Rock Estate are Chris Drake, Mark Drake, Dale Gowen, Tim Earl, Bradley Tubby and Lee Cook. The racing starts around 0830 hrs.

Oulton Week including the Rock Estates top sailors on Oulton Broad until Thursday.
Steve Jones, Richard Barrett, Sam Cole, Richard Dell, Kerr Sinclair, the Drakes (most of them), Smithy, Mike Davies, Matt Thwaites all competing.

Joe Skipper won the 2011 British Triathlon Middle Distance Championships in 4hr 4min.
The race of half ironman distance took place on Sunday 3rd July 2011, with over 750 competitors racing to win the coveted Age Group British Championships at the Cowman Triathlon in Milton Keynes.
The race begins with a 1,900m swim in the boating lake of Emberton Country Park, before a 92km bike course through undulating countryside that will ensure there is little rest for competitors. The final 21km run involves a four-lap course that takes competitors outside of the park.

Liam Gentry wins the Ipswich Bike series race and is now in first place overall. He attacks on the final lap and holds off the bunch sprint to win his second race in the series.

Mark Drake and Liam Gentry won the VC Barrachi 2up 25 mile time trial championship.

The Rock Estate had some awesome performances in the Waveney Triathlon on 8th May 2011.
Joe Skipper came 1st winning in a new course record time of 46m 08s. Liam Gentry came 2nd in an impressive 48m 52s. The other Rock Estaters of Mark Drake 10th (52m 41s), Lee Cook 13th (53m 47s), Tim Earl 16th (55m 30s), Jimmy Drake 24th 56m 41s), and Gaff 36th (58m 45s) all put in equally impressive performances.

The East Coast Triathlon at the Marina Centre, Great Yarmouth is on Sunday 1st May.
Rock Estate participants are Mark Drake, Maria Adey, Mark Potter, Matthew Thwaites and Lee Cook. If anyone wants to Marshall you will be very welcome and you can earn yourself two free swims at the swim centre. You will need to be there for 7:30am and will be needed for most of the morning. ARREST Ride ( A Runners & Riders Early Spring Tour)
Who is up for a bit of early season training with a 100+ mile ride along the coast to Cromer and back. There will be a Beer and BBQ session arranged for rehydration and fueling in the evening. It is proposed that this will be at the end of March / start of April. Please let Mark Drake know if you are interested and we can finalise a date. With the route heading out towards Norwich, inland first, anyone wanting to cut the ride short can at any time cut across to the east and onto the coast road and head back home. Liam Gentry comes 5th in the season opening Crest Spring Road Race in Essex.

Nic Asher / Elliot Willis win the gold medal in the Miami World Cup event.

In Men’s 470, the battle between two British teams has been intense all week long, but today Nic and Elliot turned in the Gold Medal performance, pushing British teammates Luke Patience / Stuart Bithell (yesterday’s leaders) to third overall for the Bronze. Australia’s Mathew Belcher / Malcolm Page took the Silver medal.

Mud and Mayhem Off Road Duathlon at St Helens in Thetford Forest on 20th March 2011.

The event is a sprint distance comprising of a 5k Run, 20k Bike using the fantastic forest trails and the infamous Pits, followed by another 5k Run. Mark Potter is already entered.
