New Years Eve run from Southwold Pier to the Claremont Pier. Leave Southwold at 1400 hrs.
 

Rock Estate Christmas Eve Bike Pub Crawl. Meet at Mark's at 1400 hrs riding to Duke's Head, Corton Hut and the Commodore.
 

Thursday night Rock Estate Duathlon. 2 lap bike ride followed straight away by 2 bridges run. Meet at Mark's at 1800 hrs. Total bike ride is approx 16 miles.
 

Circuits followed by basketball at the Kirkley Gym 1930 hrs. There is preceded by 2 Bridges Run
 

Thursday bike ride to Gt Yarmouth Running Track for running session then bike back. Meet at Mark's at 1800 hrs
 

Over 1200 competitors ran in the Norwich Half Marathon. Mark Potter came 46th in 1hr 23m 44s and Tim Earl came 128th in 1h 29m 23s. Tim was just behind snooker legend Rocket Ronnie O'Sullivan who came 120th!
 

Steve Barber competed in the TBS Thetford Forest Duathlon. Consisting of 5.4km run, 14km bike and a 3.6km run, all off-road and very muddy! Steve's time was 1hr 20m 45s.
 

Thursday night Circuits. Circuits at the Kirkley Gym at 1930 hrs followed by basketball. Meet at Mark's at 1800 hrs for a bike ride or Gaff's at 1800 hrs for Two Bridges run. You can choose which one you want to do.

Southwold Pier to South Pier Beach Run/Ride. When: Sunday Nov 15th 1400 start on a low tide. Where: Between Southwold and Lowestoft South Piers. Rules: We all start at 1400. We all finish at the Monument Lowestoft South Pier. Take your own times. No marshalls No prizes.
Arrange your own transport. 4 categories. 1. Joggers Start at River Hundred outfall jog to South Pier approx 5 miles. 2. Runners Start at Southwold Pier Run to South Pier approx 10 miles. 3. 100%Rock Riders Start at Southwold Pier Cycle to South pier approx 10 miles. 4. Rock Hard Riders Start at and return to South Pier via Southwold Pier approx 20 miles.
All welcome as usual, the more the merrier. We are a "Take Care of your own Safety group". Nothing is so urgent or important that we can't go flat out.

Rock Estate had two teams in the Dusk Til Dawn 12 hour mountain bike race at Thetford Forest on Saturday 3rd/Sunday 4th October. The teams finished 8th and 9th respectively. Click here for report.

Nic Asher and Elliot Willis win the gold medal at the Skandia World Cup regatta at Weymouth in the 470 class.
 

Rock Estate had some superb performances at the Waveney Triathlon at Bungay, with Liam Gentry leading the team home in 2nd place overall. Mark Drake and Lee Cook won their age categories, and there were good performances from Chris Drake, Lee Bircham, Chris Knights, Aaron Gentry, Mike Davies and Jennie Hailes. Lowestoft Scores Race. Mark Potter (8th) in 29m 55s and Tim Earl (12th) in 30m 57s both had good runs in the 14th Lowestoft Scores Race.

Joe Skipper won the North Norfolk Triathlon at Wells on Sunday 6th September. Joe finished the 1500m swim, 40k bike ride, and 10k run in a time of 2hr 6m 46s to win by nearly 3 minutes.

Liam Gentry in superb form in the A11 10 mile time trial coming 4th in 20m 46s. His new PB smashes the VCB 10 mile record.

Nic Asher and Elliot Willis are sailing in the 470 World Championships in Copenhagen hoping to win their third world title.
 

Thursday night bike ride. Ride to Ashby for the time trail, then Round the Islands.
 

Simon Asher and Liam Gentry scorch round the Bungay 10 mile time trial course on a tandem. They set quickest time in 21m 4s and break VC Baracchi tandem time trial record.
 

Smithy and Andrea are doing the Land's End to John O'Groats (874 miles) bike ride.
 

Maria Adey swam the Great London Swim, and came 79th out of over 1000 entries (men and women included). The 1 mile swim was in the London Docks.
 

Bike ride to Bungay and the Saints taking in the Waveney Triathlon cycle route.

Report: Richie Thomas gets yellow jersey for second time
 

Norfolk & Suffolk Yacht Club Sea Week. Mark Drake has been racing in the Brown Boat class this week. He has picked up two 3rd places along with a number of other high placings. His has been ably crewed by a number of notable Rock Estate members, mainly Mike Davies, but also Polly Davies and Anna Drake, and sailing boat newcomer Lee Bircham.
 

Thursday bike ride is a 10 mile time trial on mountain bikes. Course is around Ashby/Somerleyton.
Meet at Mark's at 1800 hrs for prompt departure. Time Trial starts near Ashby at 1830 hrs.

Report: Everyone put in great times on the time trial. Liam Gentry got the yellow jersey for a quick time trial and for overtaking the combine harvester!!

Simon Asher got a great surprise for his 30th Birthday when he was whisked away by his girlfriend Emma to see the opening stage of the Tour de France 2009 in Monte Carlo, Monaco.

Ride over to Bungay for a Rock Estate river experience. Don't forget to bring your swimming shorts or speedos!

Report: Aaron Gentry was only Rock Estater with the balls for the big jump, and was awarded the yellow jersey for bravery. A few others climbed the tree but couldn't quite make the leap!
 

Simon Asher wins Redgrave Road Race. Simon attacked hard with 4 miles to go and held off the chasing peloton to win.
 

Fritton Aquathlon. 400m lake swim followed by 2.5km trail run.

Report by Mark Drake: Several riders on form and riding well including 6 inches running with the pack on his new machine. The yellow jersey went to Jimbo who not only stayed with the pack but in the last couple of miles hit the front!! Another cracking evening, an excellent 40 mile route on tracks and roads.

Riding up to Kessingland, we then ride along the beach to Southwold.

Rock Estate sent 9 triathletes to the Fritton Lake Triathlons. The team put in some superb performances in the sprint and standard distance triathlons.

Nic Asher Sailing 470 World Cup

Nic Asher takes 4th place in Sailing World Cup 470 class event at Medemblik in Holland. Nic and Elliot Willis were only 4 points off first place in an extremely closely fought competition.

North Norfolk Junior Triathlon

Joe Drake and Steve Swatman were successful in the North Norfolk Junior Triathlon on Saturday 30th May. Joe came 1st in the Tristar 1 (T1) category, and Steve came 3rd in the Tristar 3 (T3) category. Both boys were doing their first triathlons.

Dragon Boat: We are are purchasing a head and tail for our 40 footer from Gable Events costing £100 + vat. Pete will be looking for a tenner from Dragon Boat owners to cover costs and river tax.

Heading to Bungay via Carlton Colville, Mutford, Beccles, Barsham, and Chicken Roundabout. Then from Bungay to St Olaves via Broome, Kirby Cane and Stockton. We will then head back to the Commodore through Herringfleet, Somerleyton and Gorleston Road. Meet at Mark's at 1800 hrs.

This Thursday sees the first of the Fritton Lake Aquathlons. This is a 400m swim
in Fritton lake, followed by a 2.5km run. The race starts at 1830 hrs.
Anyone doing the bike ride only meet at Mark's at 1800 hrs for Simon's mystery tour.

Rock Estate, sponsored by Fishers Hotel, stormed to victory in the
East Anglian Dragon Boat Festival at Oulton Broad on Sunday 10th May 2009.
The team won all three of their qualifying heats and the semi-final convincingly.
They then put in an equally impressive and powerful performance in the six boat
final to successfully defend the title won last year.

Norwich Triathlon 5th July 2009. If anyone wants to enter the sprint distance
or standard distance triathlons at Norwich they should enter fairly soon,
as there are ONLY about 10 places available for both events.

Fritton Lake Aquathlon Thursday 14th May 2009. If anyone wants to enter the
aquathlon at Fritton Lake next Thursday, they have to enter online by Friday 8th May.
400m lake swim + 2.5km run. Mark Drake is only rock Estater entered so far.

Fritton Lake Triathlon 6th-7th June 2009. If anyone wants to enter the sprint
distance or standard distance triathlons at Fritton Lake they need to enter by 22nd May.
Plenty of places left for both at the moment.

Sailors from over 50 nations are in Hyères, preparing for the start of the
Semaine Olympique Française this weekend, the fourth event of the ISAF Sailing World Cup.
Nic and Eliot Willis are launching their London 2012 campaign in the 470 class at the regatta.

The 2nd, 3rd and 4th Cat race being part of the Eastern Road Race League.
Simon tried to break away a couple of times during the race and finished

at the Redbridge Cycling Centre picking up 6 points.
